8th Annual Cascadia Cheese Festival

Saturday, October 28 - 11am to 4pm

At our annual Cascadia Cheese Festival, we welcome cheesemakers from all over the Northwest to showcase their wealth of flavorful, handmade cheeses. Join us to celebrate these gifted cheesemakers and try dozens of artisanal cheeses! Featuring adorable little goats from Animal Encounters!

Workshop: Let's Make Mozzarella Cheese1-3 pm: Lets Make Mozzarella Cheese
Instructor: Julie Kamin-Martin, founder/owner of OLY~CULTURES
In this two hour class, participants will learn how to create a delicious mozzarella cheese. Julie will demonstrate the process from start to finish. Students will learn what milk is best to use, the best temperatures, and the proper container to use for cheese making. Students will also learn about the acidification of the milk proteins, creation of the curds and whey, the proper method for kneading, how to store freshly made cheese and a variety of suggestions and ideas for serving homemade mozzarella cheese. At the end of the class, students will be invited to enjoy the freshly made cheeses.
