Indie Month Ice Cream Social
Saturday, July 21 - Noon - 4:00
1600 E Madison St
Celebrate Indie Month with us! Three Puget Sound-area independent ice cream makers will be on hand to share their flavors with you, plus we’ll have a chocolate fountain from Equal Exchange!
Featured Ice Cream
Parfait Ice Cream is made from scratch in Ballard using ingredients sourced from local farmers and grown themselves in gardens on their property. For ingredients that don’t grow near Seattle, they work with top-notch producers, such as chocolate from Seattle’s own Theo Chocolate.
Whidbey Island Ice Cream is known for its many flavors of chocolate-dipped bars and pints that come in 15 flavors. They began in their founders’ garage in 2005 and still make their ice cream in small batches on Whidbey Island.
Lopez Island Creamery started producing gourmet ice cream in a tiny kitchen on Lopez Island and developed their flavor with feedback from the locals. The popularity of their products has led to growth and a move to the mainland, but they are still committed to making their all-natural ice cream in small batches, often using local ingredients, like blueberries from Bow Hill Farms.
PLUS! A CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN FROM EQUAL EXCHANGE
Equal Exchange, a worker-owned co-op that was a pioneer in Fair Trade, sources their chocolate only from small farmer co-ops. These equitable, long-term relationships result in high quality organic chocolate for you!
