Haroset, Ashkenazi Style

One of the symbolic foods on the Passover Seder Plate, charoset is a sweet concoction made from fruit and nuts.


  • 4 apples cored and finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup almonds, sliced and toasted
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 lemon rind
  • 1/4 cup red wine


  1. Combine all ingredients an mix thoroughly.
  2. Add more wine if needed and chill.
  3. That's it! Oh, then enjoy the heck out of it.
